A FAMILY IN OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!!

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, the Nick Clusiau family lost their home and entire contents in a house fire.
At Nashwauk-Keewatin High School we will be accepting donations of clothing (Mom: 7/8 pants, Medium shirt, 8 ½ shoe, Dad: 32/32 pants, medium shirt, 10 shoe, the children are: Girl age 15 lg shirt, 14/16 pants, 8 ½-9 shoe; girl age 8 size: 8, 4 shoe; boy age 3 size: 4T) until Friday, December 19.  The 15 year old, a member of the high school band, also lost her flute in the fire.
Donations will also be accepted at the home of Max & Marsha Benolken, 22 6th Street, Nashwauk or call 885-2418.

The school will be closed December 22-January 2.
Classes resume on Monday, January 5.
The end of the first semester/2nd quarter is Friday, January 16.  There is no school for students on Monday, January 19.
 
 
 
NOTICE FROM DISTRICT NURSE:
The Minnesota Department of Health has set new guidelines regarding immunization requirements for the 2014-2015 school year.  Please note that all students entering 7th grade - 12th grade in September of 2014 will need documentation of receiving the Meningococcal Vaccine, medical exemption (with physician's signature) or have a notarized consciousness objector form on file.  You are encouraged to ask your child's health care provider about this vaccine at their next appointment.  Itasca County Public Health also has vaccination clinics the first Thursday of the month from 2pm-4pm.  Please select the guidelines link and the Meningococcal link highlighted above for detailed information.
FLU SHOT CLINIC NOTIFICATION
Influenza Vaccination Clinic is scheduled for November 10th, 2014.
Public Health Nurses will be at the Nashwauk High school from 1:00pm to 2:pm in the Engineering Room (Room 105)
and Keewatin Elementary from 10:00am-12:30pm in nurse's office.
Both flu intranasal mist and shot are available. If you or your child wish to be vaccinated please pick up appropriate forms in nurse's office in Keewatin, main office in Nashwauk or download from the school website. (Flu shot info.pdf) (Intranasal Flu Info.pdf) Forms should be turned in to nurse' office in Keewatin or main office in Nashwauk no later than November 4th, 2014.
